Looking for a quality gunsmith in N. VA who could pin and weld a flash hider to a 14.5" barrel. Anyone have someone to recommend?

Probably Matt over at Virginia Arms in Manassas.

Edit to change to Robb at Virginia Arms.

Not in NoVA, but check out TTI in Glen Allen. Rick is the best.

If Robb at VA cant do it ( i think they only work on what they sell), check out Matt at Black Bear Armory in Front Royal. Great prices, good timing, nice guy, just a quick drive down 66.

Northern VA Gunworks, Springfield  , Sandy Garret (Quality work, prices- are worth the great work, check to see what the wait time will be before you drop it, he's always busy)

I have heard the "treat you like shit" an awful lot - hell, even their web page makes them sound high maintenance - but the "f––- up your guns" is new to me. There must be a (horrifying) story there.

I'll second that. Dropped off a rifle and Sandy told me at least 4 weeks. Got a call 13 days later it was ready.

Grey Ghost in Culpeper?

did one for my son's 6920, and staked an 1911 front sight for me.

EXCELLENT work, courteous service.

Another vote for Northern Virginia Gunworks.  Sandy once un-jambed a shotgun for me on a Saturday while I waited, then refused to charge me for it.  He did a trigger job on my S&W revolver that is amazing.
