I have heard of a number of People proposing a learn to shoot week for the forth of July so I am trying to do my part. Last year it happened by accident that a cook out brought a number of non-shooters to my house. It was not long before the 22 pistols were lit up on my back yard range and all were having a great time. Being the 4th a few containers of tannerite closed out the day So many people do not have easy access to a place to shoot that you could almost think the was some plan to make it that way, ( oh wait....) but our second 4th of July learn to shoot turned into a two day event by combining a camp out with it. ( a few first time campers also) This weekend five women and two men 17 to mid 50's came out to my backyard range to give it a try, none of them are regular shooters and some had not touched a gun in 30 plus years. This was a no pressure, point at the targets and have fun event that lasted almost 5 hrs over the two days. I would urge anyone that knows a non shooter to take them out to a range. Even if they only go once in their life time they will remember the experience and the best way to overcome the fear of something is to understand it. PS More tannerite to close out the day |
