Does DC honor Va. CCW Permits or none at all? Did a search but didn't find anything.

NO.

Don't bring anything into DC, not even ammunition.

Not even a fired empty cartridge.

They don't support any CCW/CHP permits.  Most museums also have metal detectors and even larger pocket knives are not permitted.

Just about ANY pocket knife.

DON'T GO.

I have not been to DC in many many years. I will not support businesses or charitable organizations that make DC their home.

If more people boycotted DC (and other governments/businesses like MD, NJ, NY) with their wallets, I wonder how fast these anti-rights governments would change.

Likely not fast at all... considering the sheeple have us outnumbered and wouldn't be joining in any such boycott.

Technically, pepper spray could be permitted on the street in D.C., but there is a requirement to register it at the time of sale in D.C. and it is not clear if non-residents would be allowed to buy/register it in D.C.

Further, it WILL be confiscated if encountered at a metal detector - so it would not be of much use to the OP.

Stay in a hotel in Virginia and take Metro (the subway) into the Mall and museums.

The Smithsonian station is right on the edge of the Mall.

You're not even allowed to carry a pocket knife.  DC has a very ambiguous concealed weapons law which can be used to prosecute people for just about anything, let alone a knife.

What would give you the idea that the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution would be honored in the United States Capitol City?

Our friend and Hero Mr. Heller is fighting hard to change all this. Congress almost had them last year with the DC voting rights bill. DC would prefer their draconian anti-2A laws to Federal voting rights.

Don't risk taking anything firearm or weapon related. We were in DC a couple of weeks ago, went to the Smithsonian and they took my Leatherman multi-tool as we were going through the screening process. The guy in charge said that if I just leave the thing in my car I could go in otherwise, they will confiscate it never to be seen again.

I said please give me back my multi-tool and I will gladly stay out. My wife's nephew said that he will keep the multi-tool in his person while I could go and take pictures inside. Imagine that a multi-tool..  sooo dangerous.

Well pics up:

Non-DC residents can bring their OC spray with them.  It doesn't need to be registered.  OC registration is just for OC spray sold IN DC or online to a DC resident.

Do any of you guys have the cite for the DC pepper spray law or reg?  It'd be interesting to compare that to the DC concealed weapons law.
