Life is much better tonight than this time back in 2008, thats for sure. I am still waiting to hear results for my district, I am hoping that Randy Forbes keeps his seat, but being next door to district 5, I am very happy for everyone in that district. He already did ![]() ![]()

Randy Forbes represents me too!! Woooot!! Shame about Bobby Scott though :( |
| Awesome news! We are very lucky to have Randy as our rep. I am usually against people who serve for a long time, but he is one that I am happy to see stay put, unless of course he want to run against one of the dimwit Senators here, Webb or Warner. I would be happy to see him move onto those greener pastures. |

Canned Ham by 30 points easy.

Eric Cantor from my district won. No update on the election site for the Conolly/Fimian race. |

Eric Cantor from my district won. No update on the election site for the Conolly/Fimian race. Bobbie Scott's district was formed so that a democrat will never loose in that district. Not a racial statement, just one of demographics in the district. This is one of the most gerrymandered districts in the U.S. Half of the areas don't even physically touch each other.... Lets see: It has the east end of the City of Richmond, eastern Henrico County, New Kent County, Charles City County, part of Prince George and Surry Counties, then skips back across the James and picks up part of Newport News, does another Dukes of Hazzard jump and picks up parts of the City of Hampton and then is catapulted across the James again and picks up parts of Norfolk and Portsmouth, but not all of any of those cities. Nahhhh, this district was hand picked to make it favorable to any one person ![]() ![]() . |
| The district's current configuration dates to 1993, when the Justice Department ordered Virginia to create a majority-minority district. At that time, portions of the old 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th districts were combined to create a new 3rd District. Some minor changes were made as a result of a 1997 federal court decision that the old 3rd was an unconstitutional racial gerrymander, but its boundaries have been largely unchanged since 1993. |
