I've been seeing a lot of Russian lately in the Hampton Roads area. Is ODU doing an active exchange program or is there another reason for the influx? I'm just wondering that's all. |

Do you still see them around? Usually they just come in for the summer to work. Then have to go back because they're going to school back home. this. we do have a small population over here. the live up i OC MD and own a restaurant and work down here. most are nice to look at to. |

Yeah. American kids don't seem to want to work anymore. Many business's bring in exchange students during the summer to fill jobs. At the Beach you'll see Russian and Chinese students and others there in the Summer.
There is a convienence store on VB Blvd, near town center call "VB Mart". During the summer they had young Russian girls in bikini's there who'd wash your car or bike in the parking lot as you sat in the shade enjoying a cold one. But they are gone back to school now. Show's over. Last time we went to King's Dominion every single young person working there had foriegn accents. I was shocked they couldn't find help locally. Todays generation doesn't work like our's did 30 years ago. |

Yeah I remember something like that on the news few years back. Most of them are taking the bus back to NYC. I helped a lot of these kids by showing them how to get to the ocean front via HRT bus number 20 over the summer time. I guess most of them work at the beach. Just curious. |
