Ok, I am getting mixed signals so I will open this up to my fellow VA folks... I've got a guy in NC who wishes to trade rifles with me. As I understand the Fed Law, the transaction has to go through a FFL in either VA or NC? In other words, we both have to go to the same shop and have a FFL do the proper paperwork for us to be able to exchange rifles. Is that correct? If so, anyone what a shop/FFL in the Colonial Heights/Petersburg or points south who is willing to do this type of transfer for a reasonable fee? Thanks in advance! |

All transfers between residents of different states MUST go though an FFL. Since you are trading long arms, it can be done in either state as long as all laws of both states are followed. |
