Quick and sweet:
Does Virginia collect income tax from an individual who works for a company headquartered in Virginia, but the person is (1) not a Virginia resident, and (2) does not work in Virginia? Thanks! _MaH |

It's been a while since I had to manage out of state employees, but they didn't at that time. Don't believe it has changed. Holy crap that was fast!
Thanks!
_MaH ETA: I also just realized I have a guy on me team who is in that exact same position. I asked him and he says he does not pay Virginia income tax. Sweeeeeet ![]() ![]()

Nope. I am a resident of WV and work in PA, and for a while I was with a contractor whose HQ is in Reston. I paid only WV income taxes.
This is why DC has been pushing for a commuter tax. A lot of folks work in DC but live in MD and VA, and DC can't tax their incomes. |
