I may be going to Shepherd University next year and would like to store a firearm at a fellow arfcommers house...assuming that there are any in the area willing to do so.
I am thinking about obtaining a cheap pistol, like a CZ-52 for target and SHTF use. Would it be legit for me to take a pistol to shepherd, and store it off campus at a friends house even though I am a resident of another state? There would be no ownership transfer, just a transfer of possession/storage. Is this something that I should write an inquiry to the ATF about? |

Suggest that you get a VA CHP and then you can legally carry in WV. If your going to store it at someone's house, maybe if you get your own safe (small one) and maintain positive control over it, i.e., only one with the key, it might pass the sniff test.
Your host doesn't have access to it, so it's not transferred and your storing it in a secure place. Especially since your probably not allowed to have one on campus. Couple of thoughts. |
