How the hell did they get upstairs to my master bathroom and how the hell do I kill them?

I had a small ant issue last summer, but eliminated them with a thorough cleaning of the kitchen and some ant killer dusted outside around the house.

Last night, I found a small swarm in the bathroom upstairs.  Cleaned them up with tissues and water.  This morning, they were back.

So today, I stopped off at Lowes and bought a pack of the Terro Liquid Ant baits.  I popped two of them upstairs and about an hour later, I think they all thought it was a buffett.  There were hundreds of them swimming in the liquid and an army coming in and out.  I can't tell where they are coming from.  I dusted the outside of the house again this evening and put out 2 more bait killer things tonight.   I am out of bleach, but will visit Food Lion tomorrow for a bottle and will scub the hell out of the bathroom floor and wall.

ANTS suck!!!!

I've had good luck with bug bombs getting rid of ants.

But really, nuke 'em from space.  It's the only way to be sure.

Just thank your lucky stars that they aren't fire ants.

I'm not sure if bleach will eliminate the pherome (And I know that's spelled wrong!) that the little bastards leave for a trail,

had a similar problem at my first house, and only ended after several dustings outside the house, and spraying around the windows etc with pesticide,

yours sound like they have decided to live inside, hope they haven't moved into a wall or crawlspace,,,,

good luck,,,

This.  Easy to apply indoors, works very well.

I've had lots of luck with the Terro Liquid bait that you bought. They take it back to the nest and kill everyone else. Give it a little time.

Of all the outdoor, sprinkle around the house type stuff, I've found AMDRO ant block to be the most consistently effective. The Ortho and Sprectracide stuff never worked as well or completely.

Update:  This morning, there seem to be less of them than last night.  The bait traps are full, so will put 2 fresh ones out this afternoon.  With the rain, I'm sure the powder mix I put around the house has washed away...so I will use the liquid stuff once we dry out.

At least (knock on wood) they are confined to that one area for now.
