Need some help in shipping a rifle to get some work done on it.  UPS or USPS will ship but the Sterling PO "individual" asked me if I had a copy of my "license" approving me to own.

Didn't take the regulation with me to show him that no such paperwork was required to send a long gun back to a dealer for work/repair.

Anyone in NoVA know of a gun friendly PO or  UPS store to get this rifle shipped for work?

TIA

UPS "Stores" will not ship guns.

Go to the UPS website and find the nearest UPS Customer Center (Terminal).  This is where the brown trucks are, and ship it from there, they will have a customer counter.   Just bring it boxed up ready to go.  You do not have to tell the person at the counter that you are shipping a rifle.

Skip the USPO, most don't have a clue.

Here is your nearest Customer Center:

The nearest UPS terminal to Sterling is going to be off Stonecroft Blvd in Chantilly.

Take Route 28 south to Route 50 west.  It's (I believe) the third stop-light you'll come to on Route 50.  Take a left there.  Just in case I'm wrong about the number of stop-lights, it has a big sign on the left side at the intersection for the Auto Park with some flags just behind the sign.

The UPS terminal will be about half a mile or less down Stonecroft on your left.

Yeah, tell me about it...  Then he asked about the approval form from the dealer and said a copy of that would work  (4473) [>:/].

Dude, you haven't a clue and no I won't even give you a copy of the reciept when I purchased it.

But I still made them hate me.  I ordered some cast bullets and had them shipped.  It is great when the guy sends 3K .147 gr bullets in a $10 flat rate box.  Damn thing weighed 66 pounds.  They didn't like picking that box up.

There's something about profound and non-discrete brutal abuse of the flat-rate box which just makes me

Yep.  50lbs of linotype in a flat rate box gets their blood pressure up as well. The UPS girl is used to it, the PO....not so much
