I have been thinking of maybe switching from Comcast cable and  internet service to the Embarq bundle package with Dish Network, home phone, and 5M dsl since it should save me about $50 a month.

Anyone else out there made the switch?  Any +/- that I should know about?

+1 on this.  If it's available in your area, it is the best option.  I've had it for three years with not one outage or complaint.

go this route if you can. I pay 994 a month for local phone, basic TV service and a 15meg internet connection.

You're getting hosed.

I have 15Mb internet, phone, and all the TV channels they offer for ~$150 per month.  I'm really hoping you mistyped what you wrote.

One of my branch offices uses Embarq for their Internet connection (a 5 meg DSL.... Internet at that office isn't mission-critical).

I'd rate them at an A-.  They are reliable (but not so as I'd trust a critical service to them) and their tech-support can usually solve an issue in a timely manner - Once you get through to the real engineers.

Considering their competition, they're a good enough choice. - IMHO.
