Anyone want to meet one Tuesday night soon to watch the Sunset Review parade? If you've never seen it, then it's well worth seeing once, and I highly recommend it; you won't be disappointed.

The Marine Corps War Memorial stands as a symbol of this grateful Nation's esteem for the honored dead of the U.S. Marine Corps. While the statue depicts one of the most famous incidents of World War II, the memorial is dedicated to all Marines who have given their lives in the defense of the United States since 1775. The Marine Sunset Review Parade is held in front of the Memorial on Tuesdays from 7-8:30PM, June through August, and is free to the public. Metro Stop: Rosslyn. (The Memorial is located about a six-block walk north of the Rosslyn Metro Station.) Entrance also available through Arlington Cemetery.

I'll beat the VCDL meeting tomorrow, but will try to catch this another Tuesday.

My brother was in the Army Band, I've seen Prelude to Taps and other events put on by the military.  They really are something everyone should try to attend...great events.

I'd like to see that.  Where does the "public" gather for that?

Looks like the Sunset Parades (Tuesdays - Marine Corps War Memorial) don't start until 3 June.  The Evening Parades (Fridays - 8th and I Barracks) start 9 May.

At the Marine Corps Iwo Jima Memorial adjacent to Arlington National Cemetary. It's free to the public, so just show up and enjoy the show.

Marine Corps War Memorial is on National Park Service Land, so no firearms until the rule change is approved.
