I am not too far away (Herndon area), but depending on what you need may not be close enough.

How is NY these days?

NY is great for everything ................. except firearms

If I had access to an EBR-friendly 100 yard range within an hours drive, life would be perfect.

If I had access to an EBR-friendly 50 yard range within an hours drive, life would be great .

If I had access to an EBR-friendly 25 yard range within an hours drive, life would be fantastic.

For pete's sake , just give me a decent range!!!!!!!!!

Also, handguns rank above Al Queda on the evil list here - registration, licenses to POSSESS, no FTF's etc etc.

Again, licenses to P-O-S-S-E-S-S a handgun.

In your home.

Ah, now I'm angry again.  You've gone and done it.

Anyhow, I have a friend looking to invest in Leesberg, just wants a feel for the place.

Thanks!

What kind of investment?  Loudoun County (as of a couple years ago) was the fastest growing county in the country.  I suspect it is a good place to make a variety of types of investments, from real estate (except maybe commercial) to starting a business.  The county is growing both in population and in per capita income.

That a start?

ETA:  So you miss the "one a month" rule in VA?  We don't have many ranges that close, but at least they are all EBR friendly.

I am guessing invest in residential property?

Leesburg is a pretty nice town.  There are a few crap areas.  Email or PM me the address or street and I will see if it is a decent street.

If it is something else, let me know what you are looking for specifically.

I spent quite a bit of time training at the Xerox document University. Its quite a facility. There was alot of Marines, Army, even Special Forces from foreign countries training there while I was there. Not alot of nightlife in the area.

Chapper, I live in the Leesburg zip code 20175.  I can tell you the best place for a residential investment would be about 5-10 miles away in Ashburn, Brambleton, Belmont areas.  All have townhouses and single family homes.  All very new and modern with towncenter and trails, walking friendly.  The market has been a bit down for the past 2 years and your friend should be able to find a variety of stuff in good shape or at least ready to rent out.

Deals can be had specifically in the Sommerfield section of Brambleton as we have a rental property their and get 1900 per month for it.  There are many condo style units there and across the street is a new towncenter with movie theater and restaurants and bars and shops.  FiOS is standard in every unit with about 10 meg down.  It's a nice place to live, we moved into the country.  Plenty of people who are on the edge of hard times that would sell quick.

It is supposed to, but it only matters when you fill out the state form, and answer if you have acquired a handgun from "any source" within the last 30 days.

I like the "I must buy one a month" interpretation of the rule, I just can't afford it.

And if you have a carry permit the 'one a month' is waived.
