So I have publicly been a skeptic after a couple incidents that irritated me a few years back. I am not sure I have done a complete 180, but I am pretty close. Today I called and talked to the armorer, and said, "I have a Kimber 1911 with a busted rear sight, and a Bo-Mar replacement for it, can you swap 'em out for me?" He said, "I need to see it before I commit, but if I can do it, I can do it in 10-30 minutes." Well, I showed up 15 minutes later, and within 1/2 hour I had the new sight properly installed, and a clean weapon. I was a little embarassed I took a dirty weapon to be wrenched on, but I was so irritated when the POS Kimber adjustable target sight fell apart that I didn't want to look at the gun long enough to clean it. So when it was all done, I went out on the range, dropped a pile of ammo through it, and was VERY happy that it was dead on windage wise, and just needs a little tweaking on the elevation. All around good work, done quickly, AND it was a GREAT price. BTW: The inventory seems to be improving, the handgun prices appear to have come down some, and the staff was offering solid, reasonable advice to the couple customers I observed. Maybe I will have to join again...it is much easier to get a lane there than at the NRA shooter |
My only problem with humor like that in customer service businesses stems from the fact that every joke is a roll of the dice that someone will be thin skinned or in a bad mood. However, I generally agree with you. I don't TRY to offend people, but I also don't try too hard not to. Life has to be a LITTLE fun. BTW: The Bo-Mar Combat sight represents a MASSIVE improvement over the stock Kimber adjustable sight in every possible way. It is a more precise picture, it is a nicer blade (partially serated), and it is HELLA more rugged. shooter |
A storefront having actual inventory? hock.gif What a novel idea!!! That was my biggest beef with BRA. "We don't carry it but we can order it." Yeah so can I, it's called the internet. (except handguns, obviously). |
Dont remember what gun cost, but it was a g17, and was like 660 total with night sights and taxes and all that shit. |

They don't have range officers in the way many places do, but there also seem to be a lot less yahoos than in years past. In most cases, I am also VERY willing to be a safety officer. People doing stupid $hit that endangers me will here from ME first, then a range officer. My last two trips, this hasn't been necessary. shooter |
