So I have publicly been a skeptic after a couple incidents that irritated me a few years back.  I am not sure I have done a complete 180, but I am pretty close.

Today I called and talked to the armorer, and said, "I have a Kimber 1911 with a busted rear sight, and a Bo-Mar replacement for it, can you swap 'em out for me?"  He said, "I need to see it before I commit, but if I can do it, I can do it in 10-30 minutes."

Well, I showed up 15 minutes later, and within 1/2 hour I had the new sight properly installed, and a clean weapon.  I was a little embarassed I took a dirty weapon to be wrenched on, but I was so irritated when the POS Kimber adjustable target sight fell apart that I didn't want to look at the gun long enough to clean it.  So when it was all done, I went out on the range, dropped a pile of ammo through it, and was VERY happy that it was dead on windage wise, and just needs a little tweaking on the elevation.  All around good work, done quickly, AND it was a GREAT price.

BTW:  The inventory seems to be improving, the handgun prices appear to have come down some, and the staff was offering solid, reasonable advice to the couple customers I observed.

Maybe I will have to join again...it is much easier to get a lane there than at the NRA

My only problem with humor like that in customer service businesses stems from the fact that every joke is a roll of the dice that someone will be thin skinned or in a bad mood.  However, I generally agree with you.  I don't TRY to offend people, but I also don't try too hard not to.  Life has to be a LITTLE fun.

BTW:  The Bo-Mar Combat sight represents a MASSIVE improvement over the stock Kimber adjustable sight in every possible way.  It is a more precise picture, it is a nicer blade (partially serated), and it is HELLA more rugged.

Yep, I've been getting better service there too lately.  Picked up a glock there about 2 weeks ago.

A storefront having actual inventory? hock.gif What a novel idea!!!

That was my biggest beef with BRA. "We don't carry it but we can order it." Yeah so can I, it's called the internet. (except handguns, obviously).

Dont remember what gun cost, but it was a g17, and was like 660 total with night sights and taxes and all that shit.

Not to throw cold water on the atta boys, but my main reason for not shooting there anymore was lack of range oversight.
no
Has this changed?  Do they have real, pernanent range officers now?

I don't like being around unsupervised yahoos with no oversight.

I like being able to shoot without rangemasters.  And you know what?  if i have a problem, i can go bang on the window and point, problem solved.

They don't have range officers in the way many places do, but there also seem to be a lot less yahoos than in years past.  In most cases, I am also VERY willing to be a safety officer.  People doing stupid $hit that endangers me will here from ME first, then a range officer.  My last two trips, this hasn't been necessary.

Yeah, unsafe needs to be stopped regardless of what color shirt you have on.

I just saw on their website that weekend range hours are for members only? WTF!

Is this true?

Nope, I see people walk up all the time.  If there is a wait list, members do get bumped to the head of the line.
