Just got back after and extended job overseas and will be moving to Alexandria in the near future.  Will I have any issues with city ordinance or law regarding my presently owned Class 3 toys?

Can't speak for Alexandria proper since I live just south of Old Town, but you shouldn't have any problems as long as you have the magical 5320.20 in hand when you move. That's what I did. Got my forms signed and mailed back and packed a UHaul to move up from Florida.

Maybe some one else in the area would have a better idea.

ETA: Whoot! I just hit the devlish post.

If you aren't already a VA resident and you are moving machine guns/sub-guns into VA make sure you register them as soon as you move into VA---nothing else needs to be registered with the Commonwealth...just the full auto...shouldn't have any problems though moving already approved/your own toys here...let us know if you need the form to register machine guns with VSP...

My turn for a slight hijack...

Hiya, neighbor.

I live on Belle View. I mostly shoot at Gilberts, but am going to renew my membership to Quantico this weekend.

And now back to the tread.

From my understanding, based on conversations with friends and aquaintences in City of Alexandria, you are pretty much screwed on getting Local LEO sign off for Class III. So you may have to go the Revocable Living Trust route.

You don't need the sign off if it's stuff you already own!!!  Buying new toys could be an issue but OP's question about "presently owned Class 3 toys."

Hey guys, thanks for all the replies!  Sounds like I'm good to go then.

I'm right next door to the Patent Trade complex.  Where do you all recommend for ranges?

Well for full auto there's Blue Ridge (indoors)...for non-FA there's NRA....look around at some of the VAHTF posts---ranges in NoVA are few and far between and most not FA friendly.....

Cripes!  I'm surrounded!!!!

I'm thinking that an EBR BBQ would be in order as soon as the weather changes, what do you think.

And, Sseric02, that would include Class III types - where are you, BTW?

Ha, the registered toys are just the tip of the iceberg.  Though, I'm trying to sell off some of my stuff to thin the herd.

I just got back to the States after two years working overseas and am moving into my condo a few blocks from Old Town next week or so.

There are quite a few other EBR owners in the immediate area that don't post on here.  I think it would be well attended.

I'll start a new thread on this in a few weeks.  In the meantime, back to the original thread...
