A local attorney verified that our residence has no zoning, HOA, or other local ordinances prohibiting the operation of a business out of our home... check. LLC formed w/ help from attorney... check. LLC has EIN and state tax ID... check. Received FFL application from BATF... check. Application filled out for 07 (manufacturer)... check. Environmental impact paperwork filled out... check. Fingerprints taken at Berkeley County Sheriff's Office... check. Passport photos taken... check. Application package sent to ATF today via certified mail... check. Now we wait. |
Huh? You become a class 2 SOT on a 07 FFL as soon as they cash your SOT check? Shouldn't take but a week and all of that is mail time. What was the hold up? Or did you mean it took 4 months to process your 07 FFL application? Good luck Bubbles, having an FFL/SOT is like have a boat..... |
You are correct. The saying goes the best way to end up with a million dollars in the gun business is to start with 2 Million and bail out when you still have 1 million left. |
LOL! Yup, I know all about that. Dad has had at least one sailboat for decades. His expensive hobby led him to purchase his retirement home on Maryland's eastern shore since it came with a boatslip. As for what we'll be building... anything legal. DH has got gunsmithing and armorer's certs from most of the major manufacturers. We've also got our eye on some .gov contracts, looks like we won at least one and will be signing one of them after the FFL comes in. Some of these agencies are freaking slow... ETA: and if we're comparing expensive hobbies, I have a horse and my daughter wants a pony. Not sure if equines are more expensive than boats or not. I'll have to do many more years of research before drawing a conclusion... |
Sorry for the confusion, I mean 02 as in Pawnshop FFL. Yup, it took four months. |
