I am absolutely amazed at the turn out at my local polling place.  Even if the people I voted for don't get in..  I am still pleased with the turnout.

It pisses me off even more than losing when people don't take the time to exercise an ability that our fallen soldiers have fought for.

As of 8:30am there had been 226 people in the A-K line and 201 people in the L-Z line.  So in 1.5 hours they had 427 people vote at one location.

There were 40 people waiting behind me too.

I went to vote at Mantua Elementary at 230pm

1 person ahead of me, 6 old ladies doign the registration trying to pronounce my last name and one REALLY cute (GMU?) girl mannig the touchscreens.  She had to explain everything to me about 5 times cause I was  having so much trouble with the touch screen.  Man I'm a five year old.

Screw that.  I want people who have a friggin' clue to vote.  If a person knows and understands the issues, then I want them voting.  If they don't, stay the hell home!

See, I was stuck with the ladies who are all at least 3 times my age at my polling location (Cunningham Park ES).  I wouldn't have minded having a nice college-aged girl to help me out with the touch-screen.

Allen's up with 1% 3% reporting 57- 42

The marriage-protection amendment passes (called by fox) 58-42

eTA: fox points out this is good news for us, since this measure brings conservatives out.

according to the va board of elections, EDIT:  49.7-49 with 12% allen...its gonna be very close

the link above to the VBE website is a good place now that the polls are closed (its essentially where the news agencies get their info anyway)

EDIT:  what is interesting is the correlation to the marriage amendment results and the senate race...

last update the marriage amendment is way ahead, but Webb is up...this means that a lot of people that voted for the marriage amendment (traditionally conservatives) also voted for webb...

interesting

SECOND EDIT:  of course it just flipped again :)

Allen has NEVER won ANY office by anything more than a hair.  he's up more than 2 points with almost half reporting - including many northern districts, so far, we're doing not that bad.
