We got to the VCDL table a little late and missed everyone I guess. Cleaned with soap and water per Dark Sun but no oven cleaner on the stock. Still need to clean the barrel, but it looks pretty good for $95. I have read some comments about the pony tail guy from Dark Sun here, but had a good experience. He was short with a guy who crowded in front of me and pushed another guy aside who was buying an SKS. Pushy wanted to know how many $95 guns they had and could he 'cherry pick' through them while pony tail guy watched. He was told they didn't have time for that. The guy then got huffy and said "well I guess I won't buy one then". The old guy that showed me the rifle said "that's all right, we won't sell you one". Gotta getta boatload of excess ories. Cheaper than Dirt here I come. |

I had forgotten about the NRA range ( I'm a new NRA member). I will do more research. Dark Sun suggested boiling water, said that is the way he did it. My first SKS and I approached the teardown with some trepidation. I washed parts in hot water and Dawn. Took it completely apart bit by bit except the trigger group and the firing pin. It still works!!!! Dark Sun probably had 30 to 40 browsers around when I was there. I will do more business with them. |

Did anyone else see the chromed Makarov and the chromed CZ52 pistol that one table had? It looked more like stainless steel than a chrome finish. Pretty interesting. Missed a $300 M1 Carbine by about 5 min, some other guy was finishing the paperwork on it as i got to it. |
| i bought my cz75 from dark sun down in richmond a month ago. the "pony tail guy" was very helpful in buying my sig p232 and telling me why he couldn't give me what i was asking for it. he was a bit short with some sketchy lookin guy who wanted to dry fire all the pistols and revolvers. |

this was my first gun show and it was a pretty good experience. Couldn't find aimpoint flip-ups or a long allen wrench for the ARgrip screw, I figured those small parts wouldb e in abundance buyt the small parts guys were mostly AR internal parts.... I also expected prices to be ALOT higher. I was surprised at the bulk ammo prices, not bad. I did a little damage to my wallet. 500 rd 223 Federal XM193 200 rd 223 Black Hills remanfactured 68 grain BTHP moly 500 rd 308 Lake City XM80 500 rd 9mm fmj from Green from Georgia Arms 300 rd 45acp speer 185 gold dots 40 rd 45 ACP Corbon 168 gr PowR Ball 3 32rd colt 9mm SMG mags 4 new (real new) 20 round AK mags Got good prices on everything but the Corbon..... |

| I didn't do much damage this time. Nothing seemed exceptional and I really didn't need anything. I did pick up a carbine handguard with a built-in rail on the bottom. It looks like the Fist-Samco thing, but I can't tell if that is what it is. Some guy had it sitting on his table. Its used and I got it for $20. At that price, I figured I couldn't loose. |
JUST TODAY i noticed the knife I usually carry is missing a screw. I could really have used another one. I think SG has some SOG FLASH II's on sale, but only in silver. Oh well, now I'm carrying my monster - COlt Steel Recon Tanto. The kinda knife that'll make the DC cop that pulls me over take out his measuring tape casuse teh damn thing looks a foot long.... ![]()
