Anyone intimately familiar or working within the freight shipping industry willing to field a few question via PM? Specifically, I have a shipping dispute involving acceptance of a delivery which ultimately involved concealed damage (discovered beneath intact packaging appearing in good condition minutes after the trucker left my site). Neither the shipping company or the company from which I purchased the equipment are willing to accept any responsibility at this point. Unfortunately, I am currently left with an expensive piece of damaged equipment (cosmetic with unknown possible mechanical damage) and expected at this point by both companies to simply deal with it and move on, unbelievably.
It may be necessary to eventually contact a lawyer but frankly, I think responsible party can be identified and held accountable without such an expense if I can get some information about how the game is played from the other side. |
