We don't get out much but, recently made a trip from Carmi to Marion and two overnight trips from Carmi to Springfield...Several trips from home to Carmi and out of all that travel, the only places we couldn't carry were at IGOLD from the PCC, the Parade and the Capitol.
Never had to unholster any other place...As Todd V. said at IGOLD, with predicted blood in the streets, all he has seen is ice and salt!!! The hater's bellering about only being able to carry in your car and yard isn't playing out for us... There are WAY to many restricted places but we just try to avoid those places. |

I've had my license since the 7th and have been carrying everyday except the two days where I may have had to go to an Indiana public school for work. Can't even have a gun in your car there until July when the new law takes effect.
On the Illinois side, I've only had to disarm twice. One customer had 2 locations posted, so I disarmed and left it in the car while doing work in those 2 buildings (one in Chicago). Other than that, I've been able to carry everywhere. I have taken to doing a slow drive by on places I'm unsure of to make sure there were no CPZ signs. The no concealed smoking signs always make me to a double take.

honestly....it hasnt felt a whole lot different than before...only.....less paranoid! That is funny...We were doing a CC class in our home town and everyone knows how involved we have been in the process. This one guy comes up to me and says "Thank you for everything you have done to finally make me legal" |

I've been carrying every where I go except for work and when I drop my son off at school. Luckily I don't go any places on a regular basis that prohibit it. I went shooting for lunch on Friday and I didn't carry because I didn't want to put my holster on, go to my car, get my weapon and repeat the process when I returned to work. On the way back I stopped at Farm and Fleet and it felt weird to be out in public and not carrying. |

I've had my CCL since 3/5. Other than work (pistol.locked in my car), I've only had to disarm once, when I voted in the primary, as polling place was in a school. I carry everywhere otherwise. I've not come.across any posted places.
Oh, forgot I had to lock it in my car when I got a massage.last.week. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

Since I got my license, I have been carrying every day and have had to disarm myself every day. Work allows me to carry, but I often end up at schools and other government establishments. I've gotten pretty good at disarming myself in the car, though most of the time when I know I am going to a school or so, I disarm before leaving. That way it saves the hassle and possible children being scarred for life. I've also noticed that there are a few schools gov. buildings up here in the NW suburbs that haven't posted. |
| I've been carrying for awhile now. I've only had to disarm once at a restaurant. I assumed it was because of the bar and the 50% rule. I can carry at work and have not run into many places that have a no carry sign up. I do find it funny that all the movie theaters have these signs up (at least that's what I hear, Haven't been to a movie in quite some time). Didn't they learn from past experiences??? |

I HEAR THAT...Those things drive me nuts when they are on a door far from the street...Guess we need to take binoculars with us...Actually, that isn't a bad idea!!! Quoted:

A hotel which wanted to host my classes told me several buildings in my town had the no gun signs up. I checked them all....no smoking signs. People are so weird. Only gunbuster I've seen in town was at the New York owned "local" newspaper. No wonder I use flyers. ETA: in answering the OPs OP, I have to hitch up my britches a lot. That can be tricky when you have to do a 360 sweep first. My most interesting challenge has been going in for a drink with an empy holster and still feeling it there on my love handle. |

I just have to park across the street at the post office now instead of in their lot... I had to take my 5 y/o daughter to Build-a-Bear at the Mall. I knew the mall would be posted, so I left the pistol at home. Still had my TDI on me, but felt oddly vulnerable without my 9mm! Besides that, I have been able to carry everywhere else I have been with the exception of our CCL Classes, which have a strict "no live ammo" in the classroom rule. ETA, Couldn't carry in the polling place for the primary either. It is in a Salvation Army building and it was posted... |

I found that if you blend this movement in while opening a door, it will be less noticeable. I'm having a little trouble with cover-garments riding up over the top of my pistol when I exit the car, and had to reposition my wallet to the other back-pocket. Muzzle of the HK in Crossbreed IWB rests directly over where my wallet normally rests. Didn't want to take a chance of bumping the pistol up out of the holster while going for my wallet. I also used the Magpul fishing-weight trick this evening on my button-up cover-shirt when wind gusts today tended to puff-out my unbuttoned shirt. |
