Whats a good pattern and color for IL I am in Dupage county. I am looking at getting so gear and I am not sure if Ranger green, and coyote will work. I would love to get it in Foliage green but I am noticing there are not plate carriers in foliage.

The best camo out there has grey and brown with some green and no black.  I would recommend those colors for fall and white, grey, and brown for winter.  Best camo I ever used looked like tree bark. Take a big shirt that will fit over your camo.  Get a bucket of black walnut husks smashed up and put shirt and pants in it.  Shake until mostly coated.  Transfer to water bucket and rinse and air dry.  Grey shirt for winter and green for fall.

Another good option is cabelas wool pull over and pants are good to.  They have the old army pattern with no black.  The wool keeps snow from melting somewhat and that helps on days when it is snowing.

If you wear wool in Illinois the Beggar's Lice will make your life hell.

I like traditional Woodland Camo but it's not practical for all times of the year and it makes you stand out like a sore thumb when in a suburban/urban environment.

I think a FDE (flat dark earth) is a pretty good color, as is ranger green, OD green, or strangely enough, grey like someone else had mentioned.  If I HAD to pick just one, I'd probably take ranger green.

What kind of plate carrier are you looking for, and where have you been shopping for them?
