Not that far away. I don't see anything passing. What happens on the 10th?

All the home rule communities pass their own CCW laws, one or more get challenged in court, and we wait another year or so for the court to get pissed off enough at (D)a Idiots to say "F you, we gave you 180 days and you couldn't do it so we will"

I'm confident that something is going to pass this week. It probably won't be what most of us want, but it will be an approved bill. The general assembly does not want to go "off the cliff".

I don't think anyone knows with any certainty.

There are so many possibilities that have some chance of happening.

I said elsewhere that the most likely scenario is Lisa files for cert, gets it, gets a stay, and we find out something next summer. But I also said that is like a 1 in 3 kind of thing.

In a fluid situation like this, there is just no way to know where it ends up.

It is entirely possible that we end up with some kind of LTC that the court says does not fix the constitutional defects in the law. I rate that scenario as about 1 in 4.

#1 son's 17th birthday - beyond that either a poor to very poor carry bill or some kind of court hold

there will not be any legal kind of carry in this state except for the King's men of course

I just bumped into a couple of Belleville Police officers? at the Subway closest to me (Dovergunner, it's the one on Old Cols and Lebanon by Lake Christine Center).  Asked them what would happen on June 9th, and one looked at me like deer in the headlights.  The other stated "open carry."

I asked if Belleville or St. Clair County had any legislation in the works in case nothing was passed by June 9th, and they both said not to their knowledge.

Then one (deer in the headlights) said the city/county couldn't pass anything.  /facepalm.

Come to think of it, they may not have been cops, as they were "Community Safety Officers," but both had guns, and said they were assigned to the local community college.

This takes me back to highschool sitting in class after the bell rang with no teacher present and everyone crossing their fingers that he didnt show. We all knew better but it was a glimmer of hope

Illinois isnt going to go over the cliff. Someone is going to pull a rabbit out of the hat and extend the deadline or some temporary law will be put in place.

temporary law will be about the best - could very well be a poor law - that is very permanant
