I live right in between Champaign and Decatur, about a forty minutes drive from each. I don't know many sources for reloading components within a comfortable distance, are there any suggestions of where to go? I mainly load .223, .308, and 45 ACP.

I am in Springfield, Gander Mountain and Scheels has a decent selection. I can't think of any place in Decatur, and I am not too familiar with Champaign. Sorry I can't help more....Even the new Bass Pro Shop in Peoria seems too far for you. I'm in Springfield every so often and I have wondered if either of the stores carried reloading supplies at all. I've been meaning to stop in at Scheels for a while now, but every time i see it from the interstate it is packed. I'll check them both out soon however. Thanks for the input. |

Try Bullet Express in the business park in the south end of Springfield. John the owner there stocks alot of reloading supplies and can order most anything you need. Bullet Express (217) 585-0130 4885 Industrial Dr, Springfield, IL 62703 ![]() He has a nice selection, but he needs much more lighting. Next time I go in there, I am bringing a flashlight. |

Find a local trap and/or skeet range, introduce yourself and find out where they buy their supplies from. Usually it's a local guy that runs a side business out of his garage that has, or can order, what you need. Nobody who shoots much buys from the big brand name stores, and shotgunners go through some serious amounts of reloading supplies.
Decatur has a gun club, I think there are several around Springfield too. Regards, Dave |
| Don't bother w/ Bass Pro in East Peoria. I live in Peoria and the EP BPS doesn't have much in the way of reloading at all. Dave's trading post and Pekin Gun, both about a block away from each other in Pekin, are decent. Gander Mtn. in Peoria has almost nothing. |
