Called it quits went to the house. 2.5 years is enough for me and I'm burned out. Gonna take a long break before I go back.
Flew from Iraq to Dubai, to Amsterdam, to Memphis, to Springfield. Almost got held up by the Passport Control - Border Patrol in Memphis. BP officer told me I had a very comon name. Fazul Abdullah Mohammed, an al-Qaeda Terrorist, used my name on his African passport before he was killed in Somalia. BP officer flagged my passport then quickly unflagged it. I mentioned that I was aware of having a comon name. Got the proper send off in Iraq the night before flying home. Stepped out of my CHU around 9pm for a smoke and watched a Black Hawk helicopter take off with his lights on - perfectly silhouetting himself against the night sky. That was followed by someone shooting at it with an AK. Sounded close by. Figured the enemy wouldn't let a perfectly good dust storm go to waste. Gonna enjoy being unemployed down in MO till February then see what's going on overseas - Iraq / Afghanistan. If you all pass through MO heading South, you're welcome to drop in. Have a guest bedroom and 10 acres to shoot, hunt, and camp on. |
