can anyone recommened a good gunsmith near the champaign are. I have a couple of older rifles that i want to get refurbished for my father for xmas.

is there anybody near Chicago?
I have a mossberg 590 and would like to cut down the butt stock maybe 2 or 3 inches. its kinda of a long reach to fire the weapon.

It might not cost much more , if any at all to buy a shortened stock or a AR style colapsing style stock and swap it out yourself. The take off stock could also be sold then for a few dollars.
