So I finaly see that the ISP cashed my check on the 12 of this month...
Is that officialy when the clock starts to tick for them to get me my new card?

I belive thats how it works but I keep hearing and seeing horror storie of things going wrong...
Any comments would be great!

I believe that it is supposed to be 30 days from the date of receipt of the check by the ISP. They say that they process the checks immediately upon receipt. The 30 days according to the letter of the law should be 30 CALENDAR days as business days are not explicitly written in the law.
I guess that the only way that you would truly know when the ISP received your application, is if you had paid for certified mail.
If it makes you feel any better my application was processed and my card was in my mailbox within 35 calendar days of sending it off.
Call the ISP after 30 days has gone by. They are pretty congenial, and if you extend the same cordial attitude, my guess is that you will get a satisfying answer.

I just sent in mine, too.  My card expires on 1/1/11.  It doesn't hurt to do things early.  That way, I am not in a jam.

It would be too easy ti simplify all this and get rid of the whole FOID card anyway...
