Ask Drew Peterson...
good point. If you are attaching the muzzle device yourself, make damn sure you are doing it right. I like the pin and weld with a very visable weld (ala BCM) to ensure there is no doubt. Because the test "just to see" may well destroy your rifle. "Hey we put a 48 inch wrench on your muzzle and twisted the barrel into a pretzel. Looks like it was indeed permanently attached. Enjoy the external rifling, Bye" |

One of the reasons I won't pin or solder stuff myself - proof that it was performed for a fee by a FFL holding gunsmith has to count for something if I ended up in court. There was a thread in GD not long ago about CMMG sending out "pinned and welded" brrls that several posters reported came right off with a wrench. I'd call it damned if you do, damned if you don't. Personally a cooler looking flash hider, and 1/2" shorter profile just aren't worth it. |

Your not going to make it any shorter and with a 16in barrel you can change your flash hider to whatever you want easily. It's only an 1 1/2" of barrel. |
