I admire the "go get 'em" atitude but I would apply time & resources in other 2A areas. We need to wait for the outcome of the Chicago gun cases (probably some time in Apr '10). From there (providing a 2A victory), everything WILL fall into place. http://www.chicagoguncase.com/ I'm going to assume you're a member of the NRA as well as the ISRA. If you haven't done so yet, I'd HIGHLY recommend becoming a member over @ Illinoiscarry.com. They will be happy to point you in a productive direction & assist along the way. You will also get IL & nat'l 2A related news AS IT'S HAPPENING.

| i do also admire your go get em attitude but realistically our best bet is to support the people that area already working on the cause. Join the national rifle association, get a 3 year membership to the illinois state rifle association, sign up on the ISRA website to donate another $20.00 towards there legislative funds. Thats just my two cents because it is what i have done to help the cause. i dont honestly have time for meetings and rallies at this point so i figure money is the next best thing. |

This is being worked on by pro's. Spend some time on the site, in the IL forumn and you will pick up pieces of information from time to time.
However, given the fact the the ban is unenforced in most municipalities, it will never be repealed. The Cook County ban is the legal equivalent of parking your car on the street overnight or pulling your garbage down a day early. It means nothing. |

Leave it to the pro's you are dealing with thug’s 3 to 5 layer deep on all levels. Only persuasive pressure from professioinal legal teams and court ruling enforcement will be able to overcome the Daley "Crime Organization" Machine with many year of court levels. This should have been stop long ago about 1967-68 with Illinois Gun Control bills and the FOID Card, Morton Grove ect....... This goes back to JFK, RK and Chicago Riot at the Dem Convention that push these issue through fear. |
| Thanks for the insight. I've been a member and active contributer of the NRA and ISRA for a long time. As far as leaving it to the "pros" or playing this waiting game for rulings from judges, just seems like all it has given us is more restriction. I feel that the time to let this bullshit government know what we want is here and now. They say the most angry are the most vocal, but it seems we choose to remain silent and hope for the best. The one thing that these people are afraid of is the public. Public pressure is the only sure way to make a democrat change thier view. NRA and ISRA memberships are good and I encourage them. However I don't think that's enough in states like ours. |

Until the public remove the Daley Machine from City Govt, Cook County Govt and many State Politians Cuffors. This has a 5% to 10% chance of happening.
The real problem was where are the people when these ass-o passed the ordinance. It is easier to stop laws, but it is near impossible to reverse laws. The healthcare bill will show this soon. The whole nation will be bitching up strom when they have to wait 1 to 2 years for surgury. I think kevlar will be a hot product for the polys soon.. |

I've asked myself where I can help, and honestly, the biggest help I've found (much to my chagrin) was giving monetary help to the pro's who are already fighting the good fight. If that's not good enough for you, figure out a way to get Daley out of office, and/or run for a political position.

At the next prompt, select Option #1 again. Then, when prompted to vote on the gun control ordinance, press #2. 2.
