Cook County President Todd Stroger is taking a telephone poll on proposed gun control The number to call is 312-603-6400 and the prompts would have you dial 1 - 1 - 2 to indicate that you do not support the pending control ordinance, but it does not say which ordinance. Light up that phone! |

ISRA URGENT ALERT – YOUR IMMEDIATE ATTENTION REQUIRED 03/15/08 Larry Suffredin and his cohorts on the Cook County Board are up to their old tricks again. In order to justify passage of gun control ordinances designed to close all gun shops and ban and confiscate most guns owned by citizens of the county, the Cook County Board is conducting a telephone poll where callers can vote for or against the gun control ordinances. Like everything else in Cook County, this poll is probably rigged. So, it’s very important that you do the following: 1. Call 1-312 -603-6400 and select Option #1 when prompted. At the next prompt, select Option #1 again. Then, when prompted to vote on the gun control ordinance, press #2. 2. You should also forward this alert on to all your gun owning friends and have them vote too. 3. You should also post this alert to any and all Internet bulletin boards or blogs to which you belong. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A RESIDENT OF COOK COUNTY TO VOTE! Let’s beat Suffredin at his own game! And, save your guns. |

One thing to keep in mind: If Stroger gets wind that this is a firemission, I wouldn't put it past him to either change around the choices on the menu (1 means against and 2 means for) or change the order of the ordinances that you can vote for. Make sure that when you are voting to actually listen to what you have selected, and not just call and just hit 1 - 1 - 2. Mike F |

Done. You do not have to be a Cook County, IL resident to partake in the survey vote. Glad to add my help from the Nutmeg state. Check out http://ctsas.info to see the AMMO BAN proposal in CT! (S.603) Steve [email protected] |

Done. ISRA's notice was mentioned above, but NRA also put out the word: Suffredin telephone poll I wonder how many teachers unions and other Daley minions have been lined up to vote the other way? |

i voted from 4 separate lines. i had one friend call on 4 separate lines. i had one friend call on 5 separate lines. i had my girlfriend call on 5 separate lines. and of corse spread the word wherever possible. so just between me and 3 of my friends we have 18 calls made in tonight. where is this phone poll being advertised? how can we verify that it isnt just up for formalities and that they dont just spout off whatever results they want. i like to do whatever i can, but for some reason i feel as if it will be rigged in their favor. or not mentioned at all if its legit and we own the poll. anyone have a link to the thread in GD? |
Contrary to what you might have read or been lead to believe, teachers unions don't mobilize over things like this. At most we may get an email or piece of mail from the union asking us to support a particular candidate in an election. Most of the teachers I work with ignore/throw out the drivel. I know that when the calls came during the last election to ask us to vote for Blago, many I know refused. Not all teachers are rabid anti-gun. Many when presented with actual facts often become interested in them. Perhaps I just work some awesome people. Heck I am starting a prayer group for teachers, before school, at my school this upcoming week, not only was I given permission, but had 29 other teachers directed to me and my original group of 7. I guess my school has a prayer.... |
You can dial *67 and block your phone number. If it goes in our favor, you will never hear about it. If it goes against, they will be flaunting the results. |
You're correct. That is contrary to what I've been led to believe. Both parties seem to think that teacher's unions are an automatic left-wing voting block. Thanks for sharing though. I now have a slightly brighter glimmer of hope. Way to go on the prayer group also. I'm not an educator and it's been a few years since I've been in school, but wow... |
