Does anyone else have these bites from the Itch Mites?  I am going crazy!  The only thing that seems to help is Tea Tree Oil as was mentioned in a Chicago Tribune article.  It provides relief for about 4 hours and then I have to re-apply or tear my skin off.

While I love fall, I am ready for the first freeze.

My daughter and I both got several bites a couple weeks ago doing yard work.
Itch like hell, don't they? The welts I got lasted over a week. Fortunately, the itching stopped after a couple days.

I was up in Kane County a couple weeks ago and got bit very badly all over my ankles.  Those things itch like crazy...ranks up there w/ poison oak.  I probably had 20 or so bites on each ankle and about 3 or 4 on each arm.

Try painting some of that New Skin on there. That usually works for me. Just be warned I've found that new skin scars. So don't put it on your face.

Thanks Drobs, I tried New Skin and it helps a lot.

Where did these little bastards come from?  I have lived here all of my life and I have never heard of them.

The mosquitos are really bad after all of the rain we had.  Tonight I was doing some engine work on a friend's boat that is sitting on a Shore Station on the chain.  I sprayed myself heavily with Off, but I still got bit.  At dusk, we had to go inside because the mosquitos were all over us.

As I said, I am ready for the first freeze!

I used bug spray all over the night I got bit too b/c as you said the mosquitos were awful after all that rain.  Didn't help a damn bit but I only got bit by one skeeter though.

ETA: I just checked my ankles and the welts (as I said about 20 on each one) are definitely still there.  The ones on my arms are gone though.
