Just curious, does anyone know if the current magazine ban being pushed by Blago has a grandfather clause?  I know it cleared the Senate already, and he is trying to get it through the House.

It isn't a Large capacity ban.  They purposely twist the words to make it sound horrible in order to drum up support (i.e. high capacity).  The correct term should be standard capacity magazines.

For example, Glock never made their pistols to hold 10 rounds.  The standard capacity of their magazines are 13 rounds for the glock 21.  They designed this model before any evil people began talking about limiting magazine capacity.  The standard capacity is 13 rounds and if you want a higher capacity, then add the +2 extension on the bottom of the magazine.  Then you will have a "Higher capacity" than the standard magazine that the pistol came with.

The gun grabbers are very clever by using the term hi-capacity ban, or large capacity ban.

We need to be careful and not get sucked into using their terminology.  If someone says "Hi-Capacity", correct them and say it is standard capacity.  We need to get into this good habbit of calling this bill what it is,,,a standard capacity ban that limits standard capacity magizines to 10 rounds.

Was the standard capacity of a M-16 just 10 rounds.  NO, it was made in mind for the soldier to carry 20 round magazines and then later 30 rounds.  The military would never have gone for just 10 rounds.

Thanks for letting me rant.
