I'm thinking this might be the year ! ! |

I'm a Tampa Bay fan, but the Bears are a close second in my book. They are going to have to step it up a little more if they are going to be a solid competetor for the Bowl. If they don't start picking up the pace, they might win the Bowl, but it will be by luck alone. Granted they are playing the Saints next week - A fair weather team who plays in a dome on artificial turf, but they can't afford any mistakes. I wish them luck, and I hope they win...but they havn't convinced me that they are "the" team just yet. my .02 Bob |
I'm with you Bob, they are the luckiest team to reach the NFC Championship in NFC history. Still, I hope they kick New Orleans ass. I was at the 86 NFC Championship with my Dad when they sent the Rams packing. My Dad has been gone for ten years, but seeing the Bears win today, took me back. I hope the old man watched the game with Payton in Heaven today. |
yep i'm still standing by my predictions that the bears will not reach the superbowl...and if they do they will not win it.....AFC > NFC .... w/ that said i'm a broncos fan and now that was an embarrassment to not even make the playoffs. i was really pullin for the chargers but that game was just pathetic against the pats |
I really didn't care who won that game because the Colts are going to destroy whoever won anyway. With that said, I predicted the Patriots to win, and, well...I wish I'd bet on it. |
|
The Bears have a shot at beating the Saints. But they need to pray for bad weather and win the turn-over game. I'm pulling for the Pats because I love to watch Peyton Manning lose. I cant stand watching any Colts game because the annoucers 'service' Manning the entire time. Bears v. Pats 1986 rematch would be awesome!! |
|
Perhaps the planets will align on Sunday and the Bears will win. Doubtful. As much as I want them to win, they will most likely be handed their asses on a silver platter Sunday. My pick in Indy/NO for the bowl. I freaking hate Indy and manning and his half assed over hyped brother Ely and their Dad for that matter. I also loathe New England. I'd love to see the Bears spank the Patriots in the biggun once again. How ironic is this this though...... 86 Superbowl Bears vs. patriots at New Orleans 07 NFC Championship Bears vs. New Orleans with the Patriots still in the game Ironic |

I figured I would drop in on the Illinois Forum and see what is going on. I am a serious Saints fan and I have good friends in Naperville.... It will be a good game tomorrow and I am sure it will be close, but I do believe the Black and Gold will win and the Saints will be in the Superbowl in two weeks. I am sure I will get some flack, but listening to the talking heads this past week and all do believe if the ends and line backers can get to Rex early, rattle him up....the first five to eight minutes will set the pace for the game. All enjoy and if I have to eat crow tomorrow, I will make a roux, add some sausage and make a gumbo, so it will taste better. Enjioy the game.... 77Bronc LSU Tigers NO saints |
npd233, I think this picture sums up the Steelers problems this season.

Good god, I'm about ready to start watching football games without sound. I can't stand the announcers... They need to start calling out people WITHOUT saying their full name. "Rex Grossman missed that pass" NEXT SENTENCE - "Yes, if Rex Grossman had better footing, he'd have a completion" I'm about sick of hearing that name. Thomas Jones, Thomas Jones, Thomas Jones, Rex Grossman, Rex Grossman. Start calling them by last or first names - Which ever one serves the best identification of the player. Grossman is a horrible QB. He needs to be sidlined as a second string and Levi needs to find somebody that can thrown and hit is target. That brings another weak link to mind. What the hell is Levi calling these bold, yet stupid plays for? He's lucky they didn't have the turnover at the endzone in the first half. I'm glad it went the way it did, but then Grossman messes up a 1st and Goal??? Good coverage from the Saints, but what happened to the Bears game?? I heard so many references to the '85 Bears at the beginning of the season - what happened to them?? Which game was it where the Bears went to overtime to win...where the clock was running down yet the bears called a time out and gave the other team another attemp to score an win?? That was another stupid call by Levi. He handed them an opportunity to hail mary a pass to the endzone for an obvious attempt to hope for an interception and run back down the field...but to give them another chance with seconds left in the game?? That was stupid. Oh well, I'll keep rooting for the Bears, but to play a stupid game, I can't say I will be too upset if they don't pull it off. Bob |
if it bothers you that much just because they said their full name mayb you should talk to them about it, who gives a s**t? |
Well, I kind of do...it's a pet peeve. It ranks up there with making a "ptssssk" sound from sucking air between the teeth and tounge - commonly associated with using a toothpick. Sorry, my intent was to talk more of the performance of the bears and the F-ups of Grossman and Levi. This has been a good game so far though. I like the games where it's close and - Oh Crap!! Saints just scored and closed the gap a little more!! Yeah, it is a good game. Bob |
ya but Grossman is gonna have to play all game like he did in the 3rd quarter and the defense's secondaries really need to step it up. not to mention the O line needs to give rex some more protection...lots of things to work on and it should be a good one. |
O line needs to give more protection? Grossman didn't get sacked once in the game. |
|
Yeah, Colts have a pretty weak D. Bears have the big D. Bears O is good, but Grossman needs to quit over throwing his men - or the boys need to run faster. Not sure about the Colts offense (havn't watched them much this season), but against the Bears, it might be hard to move the ball. This will be good, that's all I know. Bob |
The Colt's offense is one of the best in the league. I still think that the Bears will shut them down. Points will likely be low on both sides, but if the Bears' offensive line keeps Rex safe, it is over for the Colts. |

I agree Tim, this is is most likely going to be a low point, down to the wire game. Of course, as fate likes to prove me wrong from time to time, this could be a blow-out, one sided victory. Can't wait for game day...going to Friar Tuck Beverage to pick up some off the wall beer to drink with the old man. (Friar Tuck has some 100-150 different kinds of beer for sale). The last Sixer I picked up was "Phuket" beer. Yes, made in Tailand, but with the name Phuket, you can't go wrong. Not bad, was worth a shot. Abita Turbodog and Abita Fluer-de-lis is climbing on the ladder. Erdinger Weiss is a strong bet and the Erdinger Dunkel will have to find it's way into the cart. Oh, can't forget, the commercials better be good this round. I was a little disappointed last year. It will be interesting to see what Budweiser gives us, and I'm sure there will be a lot of additions to "Man Laws" from Miller Brewing. This next two weeks are going to go by so slow. Bob |
You don't understand I'm the worst sports better EVER!! My luck just doesn't run that way. I can guarantee a Bears defeat just by betting on them to win Go bears
