Type 3 metric DSA worked fine w/ my Imbel kit.    I went w/ the carrying handle cut (option)  Also impressed w/ their trigger group.

Did you get a cool kit?

Type 3? Websight only shows type I & II. Did you build it your self?

Oh yes they will work lovely. DSA receivers are the best to work on and exactly in spec. Imbel receivers are excellent but vary dimensionally and can be a bit tight. DSA only sells Type 1 and 2 receivers now. I'm glad I have a DSA Type 3 in my collection, maybe a collectors item someday.

PCGuns is on file with DSA, he gets me my DSA receivers these days. He is the best guy around with an FFL if you need a receiver I recommend you IM John at PCGuns.

I ordered Penguin furnature, as lame as 922 itself.  took off and ordered other compliance parts so could keep mil. furn.

So I went w/ charging hangle (gunthings.com)   Piston, also not as nice as kit.   US muz. brake.-- am going to shorten barrel couple inches and go w/ 1/2" RH threads.

I did put semi- selector in.... gun stops if you don't address that and flip orig. selector forward

had to take just a bit off barrel so would index correctly.... about 10:30 hand tight.  brought to 12 o clock w/ barrel clamped and action wrench.   correct tools is important to not spring receiver.

then assembled and put go gauge in chamber and used pin set to determine correct locking shoulder I had to order (gunthings.com)

never jammed and hit great w/ SA.    few goofy jams w/handloads the M14 loves.....  instead of stove pipe, empty brass 180ed  between bolt and chamber while stripping next one out of mag.....  thinking not hot enough handloads maybe

found the DSA picatinny top cover to be lame w/ Leupold Mark IV....  took off and installed Elcan M145, works perfect for rifle (3.4x)  feels and looks better too

I think the reason is the Leu. is forward enough to where a ring is mounted over ejec. port (5 clamps on scope mount, none above ejection port)

Elcan clamps towards the back where it is solid, plus doesn't interfere w/ carrying handle

Where do you live? Man I hope you're not like a fifty year old guy in a BMW
I'll headspace it for you if you are close. I am STILL trying to move and I may be moving to McHenry soon so time is tight but I'd help you if you needed a hand.

DSA also offers barreling and headspace services. Next to an AR, FALs are the easiest rifle to barrel and headspace.

Now, barrel and headspace a chrome chambered M14 and Patriot will be impressed

Nothing to it, if I had patriot73's pile of USGI bolts.

What tools are needed to work on these?Penguin furniture? Interordinance has a set USA made for like 40.00 bucks. Anybody know if this is a decent set?Not 50, and ride on one, not in one.
