My building is on the corner of Des Plaines and Washington.

I have a front row seat, I can barely contain my excitement.

The police presence started to build about an hour ago, some random onlooker/supporters started showing up on the street a little while ago.

You know I had to escape communist vietnam on a boat and
spent time in a thai prison - illegal imigration ,  [aside: I'd like to thank the US Marine MP by the name of Peterson, who made sure we were safe in that stupid prison].

spent time in a thai refugee camp,
spent somemore time as a refugee in germany (7 years), , [adie: I'd like to thank the german people - west germans - of being nice hosts].

spent time in immigration lines outside the US counsulate
and then spent time learning US history and memorizing our constitution and then
spent time taking a big ol test to become a citizen
spent lotsa time getting good grades in school

Marching around in the rain - I don't think qualifies as time spent on become a legal resident of the USA.   Thank you.

And oh yeah, I don't like it when people don't vote...

When I was in  grade school some Boat  People lived in our area,  The kids really worked their asses off.   They were melding , but also seperate.   I was born in "68.   I fished through the ice from a hole.

They speared on the broken ice, with frog spears.

Thank you for doing "it" the right way. Just like most of our decendants did.

These people will abuse a citizenship if it is given to them. Just like anyone else that doesn't actually earn anything they have.
Teach 'em to fish for Christ's sakes... teach 'em to fish.

Up until today these wretches were perhaps immigrants. After today, they will be known as invaders.

Saw One of them with a sign the said " Who you calling immigrant Pilgram " My grandfather came over on a boat from Europe. Worked hard and passed the test, as I am sure a lot of others did. He did not sneak in and then start making all kinds of demands. I have no problem with anyone coming here and becoming a citizen. We have laws in this country. If they can't respect that to begin with ,then they don't respect this country. Why do they think that they can just jump ahead of those that are doing it legally.

Me too, I spent more than 7 years waiting for my green card, working under a "work permit" that I had to renew every year. I spent hours and hours in line under rain or snow so I can continue to work and file all my paperwork. I had to take an English test written and orally and prove that I had a job to be granted my green card. All the while working with an Eastern European Communist who boasted she won her green card from a "lottery"...a freakin lottery held every year in some communist country in Eastern Europe. Man does the US know how to treat their friends and take care of their enemies or what. I waited another 5 years and had to go thru interviews and tests so I can finally be granted citizenship. Several hours after I was sworn in, I bought my first firearm - an AK-47, well actually a Romanian WASR but you get the point heseIf it's any consolation, most legal immigrants I know agree that amnesty is wrong and is an insult to everyone who patiently worked hard and did it the right way.

I was talkin' to the GF this afternoon. Apperently the area McDonalds found a way to keep 'em at work. They gave them all t-shirts with BS slogans for "immigrant rights". The Elgin area's McDonalds won't be seeing another dime of mine
Screw all of BearCo's stores

Screw these people, I say get in line like everybody else and don't get mad if I don't speak your language.  Don't tell me I have to learn it either. Requiring me to take an English test so I can get my green card makes me exempt from learning a foreign language. When in Rome....
If it's any consolation, most legal immigrants I know agree that amnesty is wrong and is an insult to everyone who patiently worked hard and did it the right way. Rant off.

OH MAN!  I remember those lines in front of the US Counsulate.  Then over here I remember the lines in front of the INS office...wow take a number if you can and then wait - screw up on little thing on the forms and they send you away - to start over again the next day.   Woof!   I remember my dad was so freaked out and nervous when he finally sat for the oral exam and mixed up Lincoln with Jefferson -  hahaha - he passed.

When my grandma took the oral exam in the early 1980s, INS told her to go home and learn english - which she did - enough to pass the test!

The US let my granpa in during the ODP (orderly dep. program) because he served time in communist re-education...concentration camps for being pro American.

End of rant - ok last rant - "earn this"

Really pisses me off. I rarely spend my money on that slop at McDonalds but now I don't think I ever will. Perhaps they should teach their employees some English so they could perhaps get one order right instead of giving them immigrants rights tshirts.

If they waved the US flag instead of their home country's flag I'd have an easier time listening to what they had to say. However...since they do not and they continue to wave their home country's flag and desecrate our flag. As far as I am concerned they are now targets.....

As I was watching I saw a family dragging the American Flag and I yelled to them to get it off the ground and all I got was dirty looks from everyone including the cops.  One cop actually even moved closer to me after that and then I had enough!
