Give me a break: "Reid is a career-long advocate of environmental protection..."  Harry doesn't do anything that doesn't line his own pockets.  What is the weasel's scam with this one?

Where is this located. 700k is a lot of land!  All with the stroke of a pen and no input?  Doesn't even sound like true wilderness from the description in another article.

ETA - nevermind, I know where it is now.

They are taking more and more from Nevadans (especially land).

We are becoming Kommiefornia quicker than meets the eye.

In the past I've tried to gather support for the state of Nevada making a real effort to reclaim our sovereign lands.
Reactions varied from indifference to alarm that "We will lose our hunting and recreation opportunities!".

Well guess, what.
Failure to act is certain to lose us an ever increasing share of "Our" lands for any purpose not approved by the Eco-Nuts!
And they want exclusive rights to control them, "For the CHILDREN" of course.
I attended lands bill hearings at the legislature this year.
We may have procrastinated too long, the mostly out of state eco-nuts were out in force and professionally organized against any hint of Nevada getting control of ANY of our lands.

Maybe, just maybe, this "EO" grab will awaken a few folk to reality.
If Nevada does not take control of our lands the eco-extremist will, weather it's for Agenda 21, "Wildlife habitat", "World Heritage Sights", or any other handy pretext will not matter.
In any case we will lose far more of our hunting and recreation opportunities than we ever would under state control in consultation with local elected authorities.

Hopefully we can fend of another rabid socialist for president in the next election, I believe it is theoretically possible that our congressional delegation MIGHT be able to convince a semi-honest president to rescind this EO.

As for Dingy Reid and this atrocious act, I think he's the kind of guy who would thank you for saving him from freezing to death and feeding him a warm meal after his car broke down, by burning your house to the ground!
He's certainly not being being shy about sticking it to us any way he can on his way out of office.

This is my rant after biting my tongue for a day, my first thoughts would have gotten me banned.

Blog Post: "According to the draft of the proclamation, cattle could still graze on the land, if the BLM continues to allow it, but no new roads or rights of way would be allowed. It has been speculated that Reid wants the designation — not so much as to protect antiquities and the “art” project called “City” near Hiko — but to block a railroad line that could take nuclear waste to Yucca Mountain."

"The road to hell is paved with good intentions".
Even if blocking Yucca was Dingy's real goal this remains unacceptable.
