Looking for regulated shooting ranges to shoot at in Las Vegas and Henderson area. Boulder City is okay too. I wasn't finding much in the old threads. Everyone probably just knows a good place to go in the desert but I don't (yet). I don't mind paying and using a regulated shooting range for the time being. Prefer one that allows full auto fire, explosive targets if any do. I see a couple of clubs in Boulder and Desert Sportsman's range/club. Any of those recommended? Anyone know of any others? Eventually I'll be bringing my MG's down here so I'll need somewhere to go for that but doesn't have to be now.

BC is SMG friendly if you are a member , no full autos on the public side.
Also no full auto in caliber larger than .223/7.62x39. Pro Gun club is open to all full auto I believe. Desert Sportsmans , 2nd Sunday of the month we have the longest monthly subgun match in the US, not sure how many years running , but I have been going for the past 17 years or so. Once I year we have a belt fed / assault rifle match ( real assault rifles...not what the media calls 'assault rifles ) |

| i used to have memberships in a couple of ranges. now i go to the clark county shooting complex. watch the video once, they give you a card. then you just walk in, pay your $9.00 and you can shoot the pistol side, and walk over to the rifle side - or vice versa. you only pay once. i bring my own targets. if you get the $90 pass, you get 12 visits so it's $7.50 a visit. some have had problems with the range workers. knocking guns onto the deck. i've never had problems. closed mon and tue. |

Boulder city pistol rifle is a great range, I go to the 3 gun matches there sometimes.
I have gone to clark county shooting park and wasn't too crazy about how crowded or restrictive the pistol rifle ranges can be but had a great time shooting skeet and trap. My hunting buddy takes his wife to the pro gun club near the 93 95 junction and recommends it i believe they allow full auto there. I personally like to go to the desert even though it is a bit more of a drive. The most popular spot is to take las vegas blvd south of the city and there is a pot you can turn off near mile marker 15. This area tends to be about as crowded as clark county shooting park and there have been a few incidences out there. If I go there I drive in way past any of the other people there. There is another area if you keep going past that to light weight quarry road.. I haven't been there but it has been mentioned on this board more than once. I go to a couple of areas near nelson NV if you take the 95 south towards laughlin searchlight then take a left on the 165 there is a turnoff to the left before you get to the homes there is a small sign advising shooters to pick up their trash coords are ruffly 35.74885,-114.836049. Go a little bit further down the 165 and turn off on bridge springs road (really just a little dirt spur to park on) there is a pretty cool hike to a natural bridge 35.726815,-114.818781 not really a great place to shoot machine guns but a fun hike i usually take with my ar. I'm not going to post coords to my favorite spot because almost noone else goes there and I like it that way. |

Will do, Guido. I meant to get over to your store for multiple reasons. And thanks everybody for all the information, I'll start checking them out. Sounds like one thing I'll miss from my hometown is my local shooting range. It's maintained but no fees or rules. And that's if you don't just step out your back door and start shooting depending on where you live in Alaska. At the range we shoot up to .50BMG and bigger like cannons and mortars, full auto, blow up as much explosive targets as I please, fire tracers and all. Just got to watch your ass for other idiots and morons since no one is there doing it for you. Guess I'll have to find a location in the desert for some of that stuff. |

Found that out when I got there but I did talk to a nice employee (Noel) who told me of any area she is familiar with. Nice shop. I wasn't going to go because it's in N. Las Vegas which I used to avoid because I could not carried concealed there. I guess that's all changed, eh? I'll come back by sometime to get some face time with you.

If you have a valid Nevada CCW permit (or a valid CCW permit that Nevada recognizes) you are GTG in NLV. You can call or e-mail Sergeant Tim Bedwell of the NLVPD and ask him personally. He WILL answer your call and or e-mail and answer your questions if he is available. If not, leave a message or e-mail him and he will call you back. Just don't be a Douche. Sergeant Tim Bedwell, NLVPD: (702) 633-1861 (Department #). E-mail: [email protected] |

It wasn't allowed when I looked it up many years ago but I still use my AK permit to carry in NV. So I'm good to go now which is great as there are a few places in NLV that I need to visit. And thanks for the contact, I'll keep the douche filter on if I call

They said they prefer you to go to the silloutte range for exploding targets. With that said they never said I could not use them in the berm pits but just to be careful not to destroy the berms. If your closer to boulder city then BRPC is a good spot and once you pay the first time fee it's only $75 a year to be a member. |

You know, 20 lbs of Tannerite and propane tanks kind of Tannerite. To join for the first time it is a $50.00 initiation fee plus the $75.00 membership fee for a total of $125.00. Then it's $75.00 to renew every year thereafter. Also, before you receive your membership card for the first time you must go through a range orientation class. Those are held on the first Saturday of every month at 9 am. |
