I haven't posted on here in a while but I wanted to give Joe @ Line of Fire a glowing review for the recent private CCW class that my wife and I took with him.
I had my first CCW with Joe about 7 years ago and I have since lapse on my renewal.  Two weeks ago, I called Joe for a private class along with my wife and he happily accommodated us last minute and was able to work around our busy schedule.  My wife is a non-gun person and never fired a handgun before.  She thought the classroom portion is going to be dry and boring but Joe broke it down into simple and easy terms that she was pleasantly surprised to enjoy learning.
My wife was pretty nervous at first shooting a semi-auto 9mm handgun but Joe helped her gain her self confidence.  By the time she was shooting to qualify she was able to shoot single handed on both left and right hand well enough to keep it all on target to qualify.  She also qualified with the revolver and did even better than the semi-auto, which surprised me.
Anyone interested in taking a CCW class or renewing I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Joe.  Good job and keep up the good work Joe!

George,

Thank you for the positive feedback regarding your CCW training with Line of Fire, LLC. It was a pleasure to train with you and your wife! You both worked very hard in your training (especially your wife), and the fact that you both had open minds allowed you to easily assimilate the new (and old) skills that were presented.

Most people are confident in their shooting and gun handling skills because they go to a range once in a while and put different bullets through the same hole, and that is fine. That type of shooting is usually accomplished with all the time in the world, in a climate controlled environment, from a static position with little or no stress and no hostilities. There is nothing wrong with that procedure, but it is not realistic training to prepare for a violent and traumatic encounter when carrying a firearm for self-defense.

What needs to be realized is that when the human body and stress come together and the ’chemical cocktail’ of adrenaline is dumped into the central nervous system everything changes mentally and physically. That is why I instruct my courses with a certain level of induced stress, along with situational dry and live-fire drills, and malfunction clearance drills. Do I charge more than the others? Yes. Are my courses lengthy? Yes. Do my students have to work hard in order to pass successfully? Yes. This might sound a bit rigid to some, but it’s how I instruct and I will continue to train my students on those standards.

I believe in giving my students more than they pay for, and I didn't start my business to load up classes on the cheap. I started Line of Fire, LLC to provide my students with the best instruction for their training dollar so they can stay vertical, continuing to eat solid food, with no extra holes in them. You are in business and you provide the same level of customer service, and that is what makes Battle Arms Development a pleasure to deal with.

Every firearms training course I teach is limited to smaller, private classes, and they are very comprehensive both in the classroom and on the range. By dedicating myself to this business and instructional attitude, I feel that a more informed and competent student is produced, and you are both shining examples of that approach.

I would like to thank you once again for your business and all of your hard work.

I am proud to call you and your wife my friends and I look forward to training with both of you again in the future.

Also, thank you for the package of unexpected gifts from Battle Arms Development!

Be Safe.

Sincerely,

Joseph Nizzari

Buy once, cry once. You only have to do it every five years, go with good training, not cheap. Being a northy, I can't vouch for Joe, but I've been to good classes and bad. Go to a good one, you'll learn something, even if you know everything.

Exactly. I can vouch for Joe. He did mine and my wife's ccw course. Just the 2 of us. She wasn't a shooter and was very intimidated and I had picked up some bad habits that needed fixing. By the end of the course, my wife was out shooting me. (Not all that hard to do )

You won't regret it.

I can vouch for ISHOOT2LIVE......................Took His class many years ago, taught me so much, corrected my bad habits & even during a home invasion stopped them without having to kill them cause of the mindset he taught me.  Even if it takes a little longer to save the money for his class please consider taking it.  I got a renewal from somewhere else and almost feel asleep ( due to schedule conflicts & I let my co workers talk me into going with them). A . Joe's class with not let you fall asleep cause you wont be  bored. B if you fall asleep Joe might stick a gun up your ass (JOKE)
Seriously it's a great class and takes 2 days ,but well worth it.  I couldn't shoot left handed, stood like a ostrich with both hands straight out, and didn't even understand how your life changes once you pull that trigger. He straighted me out on the above. This is just my humble opinion but will always be thankful he taught me.

On a lighter note............where I work now it seems to be the "IN THING" to get a CCW.............well 3/4 of these people have never held a gun, they go to some free class and shoot 18 rounds and think they are Billy the Kid now. Not that the free class is a bad thing if you know something about guns.......... Scares the shit out of me, especailly the women and I am female.  I tried to get them to go to Joe's class but they dont want to pay and they can afford it, dont want to take 2 days, or drive to Boulder range.  So now they come to work and tell everyone they can carry a gun with a new necklace they bought with a gun on it and dont even know they cant go in the post office or a school with a gun.  They can't clean thier weapon and think "clips" are magazines.  Or just did revolver and didn't know they could do a auto at the same time.

Plus Joe got me a AR 15 the day they lifted the ban !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   YAHOO.

I was all ready and excited to do it this month but then I found primers and 223 bullets in stock and found a holster I like and ordered a new barrel for my shotgun for duck season....

That took care of my monthly gun budget

I'll try calling soon to schedule a class. Any Idea what the turn around time is to get your actual permit back these days?

I called Joe about a renewal class ages ago, then life got in the way. And 119F.

Maybe August! Stupid me is going to be sans-CCW because I expire before their turnaround time will go thru.

Joe was awesome as an instructor. That's coming from another instructor! I did mine last septemberish. He is good and his class portion was even more informational. The range was awesome and good training. He didn't try to grope me either which is a plus! Haha

Bump for Joe,

Qualified over the weekend with Line of Fire, had a great time. Classroom time was easy to follow and joe kept it interesting.

We OCd to starbucks and after getting all hopped up on caffeine we ran through some good drills and did the older standard for qualification where you have to stand on your head with your eyes closed and shoot with your toes and such.

Thanks for the accommodation and communication, I learned some of the stupid crap I'm doing and have some good fundamentals to practice now.

I'm glad I followed the recommendations here and had the pleasure of meeting another upstanding arfcommer.

Obo2,

It was a pleasure to finally meet you!

I'm pleased that you came away from the course with new skills, and we were able to identify some things that you were doing incorrectly.

Thank you again for your business, and I hope to train with you again in the future!

Be Safe.

Joe

BTW: The word I couldn't remember all day was "dross."

Don't renew at the last minute. They're taking the full four months to get renewals out.
