Sorry guys but I have to just rant about the media.  Just watched the news and they had some clown on that talked about buying firearms at gun shows "without a check"!!!!  Every time I have ever bought a firearm at a gun show it involved me doing a background check.  I know he was probably talking about private sales but, that is not what he said.  Here is also an article I found on the net. "Nevada's rules on assault weapon sales are so lax that some blame the Silver State for the flow of such firearms into California, where the guns have been banned in some form since 1989".  Isn't this a problem with California and not Nevada???  People from California know it is illegal to have a high capacity mag and also certain guns that are banned on the list and yet they blame us. I have been in local gun shops and a person from California has tried to buy a firearm and the dealer told them it would have to be transferred to a dealer in their area and that is only if it was not on California's ban list.  I have family in town for the holidays and they have been talking to me about the anti-gun movement.  They have not expressed any concern about being for or against.  Some of the things they said came from the media and was totally wrong.  Every firearm involved in a crime or shooting seems to be a Bushmaster.  From what I have seen the local media seems to gets their facts straight but the national and news teams from other states goes out of their way to get the story wrong.  The media is painting a picture of gun owners with assault type rifles as being crazed nut jobs that want nothing more then to hurt Innocent citizens.  I have been a long time gun owner and have several assault type rifles and also some class 3 weapons.  I collect them because this is my hobby.  I have always obeyed the law and have only had 1 traffic ticket issued to me that was later dropped.  The tragedy that happened in Newton was horrific and I am sure that any legal gun own would have come to the call of stopping Lanza if he or she could have.
Thank you for listening to my rant.  Please feel free to comment.  Here is the link to the article I found on the net.

IMO, this is the anti-gun crowd preparing the ground for anti-gun bills in Carson City in the upcoming legislative session.

The moment that the anti-gun movement thrashed about how bringing police officers into our schools was equivalent to solving "the gun problem with more guns," I gave up on trying to have any sort of meaningful debate with those folks. They need therapy and medication, not logic and reason. It's hard enough convincing the Fudds to stop supporting gun control. We may as well just concentrate our efforts on the Fudds, and flood our representatives with our opinion so we don't get our voices drowned out. Politicians only care about who will support them in the next election, so we better be louder than the hoplophobes.

Among others representing Nevada, really watch out for the two H's.

Horne and Horsford.

We need to review the BDR's again.

And to watch for gun control being quietly amended into unrelated "Must Pass" legislation.
There are rules to prevent such chicanery, but for liberals such rules are made to be broken.
