| Hey, I'm semi-new to LV...unfortunately don't really know anyone yet since I travel a lot for work. Looking to take some coyotes nearby if someone's willing to show me around. I'm free most of May. |

From what I've heard from co-workers, head up towards Tonopah, and you'll find coyotes aplenty. Although legal, now is the worst time to be hunting coyotes (unless you own live stock and they are cutting into your profits) Coyotes are paired up denning pups about now. I usually give them a rest till about late august. Pups are usually kicked out if the den by then. Hate to see animals die from starvation due to shooting a wet bitch. Hate even more the idea of a few less targets come fall because of the same reason. But your call. The farther north you get, the better the calling gets. |

I've never gone after them, and this is the first place I've been stationed where there are coyotes, so I didn't know their seasonal habits. Been here a year, and still get a kick out of having seen both coyotes and roadrunners here. ![]() |

Is this true for mountain lions too? Mt lion can breed all year, but usually only do so twice a year. http://www.bearcountryusa.com/animals/animal_info.php?id=11 |

In the 5 coyote contests I participated in this winter, I know of 3 or 4 teams who focused on the Tonopha area. The first contests they where all bring back at least 10+ dogs, by the last contest I did in March, They had maybe 1 or 2, several didn't have any. That area got hit pretty hard this year. |
