Nuff said.
A coroner's inquest jury ruled Friday afternoon that a Las Vegas police officer was justified in the shooting death of a 26-year-old suspect who fled from police during a March 23 incident. Six out of the seven jurors reached that conclusion Officer Christopher LeBlanc fatally shot Damon Beal after the car-theft suspect fled from police near Washington Avenue and Rainbow Boulevard. The shooting spilled out into a residential backyard. During the incident, 31-year-old officer Michael Madland was shot in the leg by Beal. Police said he was fighting for his life in critical condition following the shooting. Madland testified in Friday's inquest. |

Maybe theres more to story that we dont know. Remember, the swat team from the dog shooting thread? Perhaps there is some shadow of a doubt (the basis on which our jury system relies) that "retard" number 7 is aware of that we dont see.
Maybe the victim was out for a jog and didnt have his contacts in. When the officer tried to run him down, he was afraid for his life and couldnt hear because he was wearing an ipod. Perhaps he fired in what he believed was self defense. Didnt we just learn we cant trust the media to tell us the truth, no matter which way the story blows? Just sayin... |

| Lots of possibilities, everyone is so quick to take an officers side...........we werent there nor presented with the evidence. But if the officer was shot at thats a different story. Since the subject is up, in other cases where the officers were wrong, they seem to get away with it, simply by stating they 'feared for their lives', do we as citizens not have the right to defend ourselves against anyone including officers? |

Heard this on News 8 this morning: In a strange turn of events, witness Alvino Farias told jury members days after the shooting, District Attorney candidate Don Chairez and Sheriff's candidate Tim Deam stopped by his house specifically asking if this was an execution. Chairez said Deam believed this was an execution and a Metro coverup. He felt the witness may have been intimidated to change his story and the public had a right to know. Chairez says after speaking with Farias he didn't agree with Deam. http://www.8newsnow.com/Global/story.asp?S=12522661 What fucking BULLSHIT! And these guys want to get elected to DA and Sherriff? |

Sure, if you are a scumbag fucking car thief that shoots at cops. We aren't talking about other cases. We are talking about two cops pulling over a stolen vehicle and the the thieves turning jackrabbit and one shooting and nearly killing Madland. It was at that point when your citizen no longer had any reason to fear for his life because it was over. |
| Even if Deam is right in that the piece of shit was shot in the head at point blank range, it would still be justified based on the story presented that Madland was wrestling with the suspect for control of the gun. I know if I come around to see my partner entangled with a suspect attempting to gain control of his firearm after having been shot, I'll go right up the the suspect and put a couple into his head to end the threat. |
