in the Carson city, Reno area.

I want to buy some guns on gun broker and I need them sent to a FFL that won't get upset that I am not buying from their stock.

what is the going rate for a transfer charge?

Thanks.

Nevada Armory in the industrial area of Sparks

US Firearms Academy on Moana

Both are good guys and do transfer without issues.  You may need to tell USFA that you are a member here to get the good rate.  I think both are at $25.

Another vote for Carson Armory

Haven't had a transfer done for me, but they've done me good for everything else.

The absolute best is Larry Wright. He's out in Spanish Springs. He is super easy to work with and he only charges $15 per gun for transfer fee. I had two lowers transferred to him for $55, which included the background check. Last I heard, USFA charges $50 just for the transfer (); to be fair, USFA gives ARFCOMers a $25 fee, but that's still more than Larry. Larry's retired, so his schedule is super flexible.

Larry's info is:

Larry Wright
phone: 775-425-4867
fax: 775-425-4867

Unless your averse to driving out to Spanish Springs, I don't think this option can be beat. YMMV (but not by much ).

ETA: I asked this question about two months ago. You can see the discourse here.

There's a new shop in Gardnerville.  Guns n Arrows.  775-783-1858
He just opened but he's got good prices and has plans to expand the EBR selection and accessories.
$25 for the transfer + $25 for the Brady.
