They closed the one on Centennial near Sportsman Warehouse right around Christmas time.

I noticed this myself the other week when driving down Eastern/ St. Rose. I got a pretty good deal on a nice stainless grill from them years ago. It was a demo, scratch/dent (missing the two side wheels). They converted it from propane to natural gas for me also. I have a hard line run for the grill, so I never have to worry about empty tanks.

They sell one specific category of consumer goods that people often buy at other stores which also offer a variety of other goods (Walmart, Target, Home Depot).  This makes it very hard to move enough volume at a limited margin.

Personally, I like specialty stores because they tend to carry good quality items and most importantly (to me anyway) you have a much better chance at finding someone working there who knows what the hell they are talking about.

On the other hand, some people like to buy their bbq's, car tires, cheese curls, and baby shampoo all at the same place too.

I used to produce their radio commercials and they pulled them A LONG time ago.  Bad move in my opinion.  If you are a specialty store you NEED to do some major marketing which usually means advertising.

Funny, that we don't see more gunsmiths and dealers ALL over the Nevada section of AR15.com.  This place is a treasure trove of potential customers.  It would be very easy to develop a following for no money and a little time.

My buddy was the store manager at the Sahara and Decatur location.  They are out of Vegas for good.  Apparently they brought in a bunch of ex-Circuit City execs to run the company into the ground.
