Thanks

Ok, so rule of thumb.  Sta-Bil is advertised to work on gas for about 6 months; 1 year if you double the recommended dosage.  For diesel, you need Pri-D.

I've had fuel stored in plastic USGI cans for at least a year with a double dose of Sta-Bil with no ill effects when it was used in my Jeep. Sta-Bil is commonly found around town but the Pri stuff I've only seen online. Pri also makes a "G" stabilizer for gas which is purported to work better than Sta-Bil. If you're going to buy Pri-D you might as well get Pri-G at the same time.  I don't have diesel yet so I just buy the Sta-Bil in the biggest jugs I can and use that.

You might want to check into Seafoam. I know it is safe to run in diesel as well as gas. Cleans ,and lubes engines and injectors as well as a fuel stableizer.

Pri-G for gas, Pri-D for diesel.

Major Surplus & Survival carries it, if you can't find it locally.

Variable, where are you getting the MFCs?

You have to have a military associated account on the Scepter dealer websites because the MFCs are not civie (CA driven) authorized. They are $60 plus $9 shipping each. I am buying a dozen (4 Unleaded red cap - 8 Diesel yellow cap).

They do not sell to any civilians because they are not within CA eviro friendly specs.

It is easier to say NO to ALL civilians to prevent them from being sold to anyone then sent second hand to CA.  Stupid, I know.

How do you store gas in Nevada, with the heat issue?

I would think that even in an outside vented storage box, it would still get too hot to be safe?

I have a rubbermaid type outside storage container. I kept a temp monitor in it and the highest it got all year was 133 degrees by checking the memory.  It is in the shade though.

Did you drill holes in it?

No it is not air tight on the lid area.
