| Since it is illegal to shoot outdoors here, does that make hunting illegal also? Someone on another thread mentioned that bird hunting and small mammals were okay near Red Rock. Are coyotes considered small mammals? I just want to make sure because I went off roading on the west side and saw a few yotes well within range. Your input is appreciated. |

It is not illegal to shoot here. Most of Clark County proper is closed to outdoor shooting though. There is a shooting map (maybe someone can post it) that designates where legal shooting is permitted. Here is the NDOW Coyote Regulations for the entire state. Note that shooting at night varies from county to county. Non-protected birds can also be hunted legally as long as they are in a legal shooting area. Hope this helps. Be Safe. Joe |

The only parts of Clark County that are closed to shooting are the areas near city limits. I've posted detailed maps and official descriptions at least twice in the past, and both times they've fallen off the bottom of the forum never to be seen again. I'm going to drag it up from the archives and post it again. Maybe we can get a sticky? -Caver |

Anyway, thanks for digging up the map info. I agree it should be a sticky. Be Safe. Joe |
| There are many areas that are no shoot zones (meaning target shooting) but are legal hunting areas. The redrock area I was talking about it the road just past the Kyle Canyon road. There is some sort of Nevada Power station there. There is a sign that says Red Rock something or other. It also says , No shooting except for the persuit of birds and small mammals (or something like that) . |
| Third from the top of hometown Resource Guns and Gear Nevada Resource––CHECK HERE FIRST BEFORE POSTING. The first link there is a this map. Clark County Illegal shooting area map. |
| I miss the good old days when you could just pull off the side of the road on W. Charleston and shoot, at Lake Mead and Hollywood , the old landfill , out behind craig ranch golf course when there was nothing between there and the mountains. Vegas is just too big now. |

The thugs still do it on a nightly basis in the same areas. No longer glass bottles being shot though |

Yeah I miss Lake Mead and Hollywood, was a five minute drive from the house. You can thank the shooters for some of these closures. A good bunch of them were slobs, didn't pick up after them selves, not to mention all the broken glass. Of course proximity to houses didn't help either. I wish more shooters would pick up their crap (targets, boxes, brass, etc.) |

I never understood why shooters have to take everything including the old kitchen sink out to the desert to shoot it. I have been guilty of of shooting cans and bottles in my younger days. |
