Ssgt Joseph Michael McCauley took his own life on May 26. He got back from his 3rd tour in Iraq in January and outprocessed the USAF in Feb. I served with him in Kirkuk, Iraq in 2003. We went over together from Nellis as a heavy weapons squad. He was always the rear gunner on the MK19 during our missions. I lost contact with him after he left for Korea in 2004. He left behind a wife who is also in the USAF. Rest in Peace Mike. I wish you would have talked to someone before you took your own life.

. The military really needs to help our deployed guys out. Especially after three tours. May he rest in peace.
And somehow I don't think it will be the last. Between Mike and my former squad mate from my last deployment killing another kid last month, it's hitting too close to home. |
