No discussion, no flame, simply post photo's that you believe relate to Memorial Day.

I'll start with three of my favorites: the last one is a pic of my son now in Iraq

I have never been to a place where I was more moved by the timeless sense of history.  Seeing the oil brurst to the surface from the bunkers and feeling those still below.

I am proud to say I made a special trip to Hawaii just because showing respect for those who gave all is important to me.  This was prior to 9/11.

The last four are of my best friend Captain Kermit Evans, USAF, EOD.  We were stationed together and he helped me out a bunch when I was a new butterbar.  We lost him in Iraq and it kills me to this day.  Some pics of him, his family, and us at his funeral in Arlington.

Honor and remember them ALWAYS through support and faith...

Care for their decisions, no matter how silly or ludacris they may seem...

They volunteer to uphold the public trust and internal fortitude...

One can only wish to be amongst their compay now if only for a minute...

They stand on an eternal watch so that NOBODY will invade or trespass...

Forever love...

THE CALL
The blood of men flows ever out
As raging rivers to the sea
There seems to be an endless source
From long lost memory

The young men come to volunteer
To shed their blood once more
They've heard the call to bleed again
Upon some distant shore

Why is the call to die so strong
That men will heed the call
Or do they think they're not the ones
Who'll take the final fall.

It's always someone else who dies
Not we who volunteer
We think we'll never be the one
And laugh to hide our fear

But deep within our inner souls
We know we may be wrong
That death may be around the turn
Our life may not be long

But never mind we heard the call
We line up in our ranks
And a grateful nation will be there
To give us all their thanks

They'll build for us a monument
Young boys will come to stare
And they will be the next to go
To shed their blood somewhere.

Awesome thread...very moving pictures.

Let no vandalism of avarice or neglect, no ravages of time, testify to the present or to the coming generations, that we have forgotten, as a people, the cost of a free and undivided Republic.  ~John A. Logan

Thanks to all who serve, and to those that have given all.

Not a photograph, but nonetheless a great tribute to a fallen hero.

Bobby Warns Video Tribute

Thank you to all who have served, those who are still serving, and those who have given the ultimate sacrifice.

You will never be forgotten.
