Anyone know if a wall safe that will fit a carbine or shotgun?  I know there is one for pistols but it would be nice to have a long gun stashed discreetly.

I just leave mine laying all over the house.

The better to scoop them up in a hurry and appropriately deal with those people who keep kicking down my doors when the little wifey and I are trying to watch CSI

2 y/o? That's the perfect age to start ingraining them with firearm safety and the 4 Basic Rules of Shooting.

Come on, Fiesty - get with the program !

I know I know.. I just need him to be a little boy a little longer..They grow up too fast ya know..lol

We do plan on teaching him about firearms  though..

ETA:  You're right though..now is the time to teach him not to mess with them.  I have had to put all of them up in the closet since he likes to go through the drawers now..

Don Trimmer of the Safe Keeper had a wall mounted long gun rack with a touch pad for unlocking at the last gun show. He also had one for pistols too. They looked like they would work well.702-873-7233 www.thesafekeeper.com
I haven't had good luck with wall safes, they tend to pull them out of the wall and take them with them.

Look HERE and scroll down to the full length model.

There are other manufacturers that make heavier units which mount the same way.  If you use enough lag bolts, it will not be easy to remove.

Installed in the back of a closet full of clothes, it is somewhat camoflaged...

I grew up in a house full of guns.  My Dad had them all in Boyd zippered gun cases leaning up in one corner of the closet.  We didnt mess with them because we knew an ass beating would result if we did.

ANIMUS, just go buy a regular safe.  Keep the defense weapons up high and I think you'll be good.

Im not so worried about my girl getting into the guns when theyre all locked up in the safe and the close at hand weapons will be well out of her reach and I'll give her the same warning my Dad did,  "If you touch my guns without my permission, I will beat your ass in to next week."

The only case I knew of first had where kids and guns didn't mix was a douchebag I went to school with found his Dad's back up piece that was left loaded in a desk drawer and he neatly grazed a classmates head with it.  So needless to say said douchebag nearly cost his Dad his job on the PD, not to mention the fact his old man might have needed his backup gun that day.  I remember people getting all upset about the incident and all my Dad had to say about it was, "Don't keep things out where dumb fucks can get their hands on them."  And, while looking at me, "That wouldn't happen in this house because you know what would happen to you you if I ever found out you touched one of my guns without my permission right?"  That was enough for me to know not to mess with Dads guns.

I'm sure we all have taught our children well about firearms but want the added piece of mind of security and knowing that while we can trust our own kids we want an added layer of security for our childrens dumbass friends.
