If you like Thai food the best place I have found is Lotus of Siam in Commercial Center off of Sahara.  It is very unassuming from the outside but the interior is very nice.  It is sort of a Las Vegas secret.  I have seen several Vegas notables dining there.  The menu is several pages long and the food is excellent!  Prices are moderate.
I give it four gold forks!

I will second that. I haven't had a ton of Thai but I was introduced to the Lotus by a Thai friend and so far nothing has measured up to it.

Just to show you I'm not a complete prick, I bumped it up to the top for you.

YOu bumped it up to show us that you're just mostly a prick?

Gee, thanks.

Isn't Lotus of Siam a buffet?  I hear great things about Ping Kow near the Best of the West, but that was already mentioned in the other thread.

No it is a fairly nice sit down restaurant. It looks like a hole from the outside though.

It is in the same center that Joe uses for his classroom portion of CCW training.

Make sure you go for dinner and skip the buffer, if you don't like buffet food. I have been going there for about 15 years (I'm pretty sure it's that long now) and the dinner hours has MUCH better quality of food.

thanks,
Ron

You're welcome!

Lotus of Siam is tasty, miss that place. Buffet is a good excuse to get out of the office, but I've heard dinner is better. Also, check out The King and I at The Lakes, and Marnee Thai on Spring Mountain.

They have a buffet during lunch, and fairly cheap too... but you are "not supposed" to eat the buffet, you are supposed to order from the menu.

In addition to their regular one, foodies claim they have a "not for whities menu," which is supposed to be more legit...  Despite LoS's who's who clientele and lasting fame in foodie-ville, I think it's overrated.

If you're looking for Thai on the west side of town, try Archi's on Flamingo just west of Jones (and they just opened another one on Rainbow and the 215). It definitely holds its own against LoS (which I also frequent).

Small, clean and very friendly staff. Very reasonably priced too!
