Anyone use one, make a big difference? Seriously thinking about picking up one for my varmint style AR. Right now it just has a standard trigger group in it. Also, I see they come in flat trigger and curved (traditional) triggers. The flat trigger looks sano but I've never laid a finger on one so not sure if it's smart to buy one? Thanks in advance!!!!!!!! |

Rich, I have a bit of experience with AR triggers from various manufacturers. Stock is always the most reliable but like you I like a good trigger on my guns. I have tried McCormick triggers and for a drop in type they are fairly good. They have not enjoyed a reputation for reliability however. I have a LMT two stage in my current gun and I plan on using it until something happens to it. So far (5000 rounds or so) it has run flawlessly. The best trigger I have EVER owned has been a Geissele service model two stage. In my opinion they are the trigger that all others should be measured against. They are adjustable but designed to not go out of adjustment. They offer a non-adjustable model if it is going on a defensive gun. The surface area and contact points are significantly harder than a stock trigger so it will last a LONG time. A far a feel goes it is the best on the market. Now for the killer.....it is also the most damn expensive as well...$279 smackers... OUCH! |

I use a McCormick in my dedicated 17HM2 gun. Nice trigger and it does make a big difference. Probably not as nice as my KAC trigger, though. They are pre-adjusted and "drop-in", although I did have to ream out the pin holes on my lower just a bit. I think the supplied pins are oversized... I'm curious as to the "reputation for unreliability" comments though. Mine has been perfect, but it's just a sample of one. |

I have a Chip Mcormick with the flat trigger . I have not had any problems with it so far. It does look odd but t feels way better than the GI trigger. The Rock River is nice too. I am going to pick up my Sig 556 on Saturday. I am going to compare all the triggers on Sunday at the range. |
