I got this DVD in the mail called "front sight story", on the cover it says "protecting your family from violent criminals" and on the back reads some statistics on violent crimes. At first I thought it was a Wolf Blitzer-Bob Denninis anti gun commie "go out and blame the governor, blame the president that law enforcement ignores the violent criminals but violently harasses us "innocent" citizens BS" so I left it sitting on my desk and forgot about it for about 3 or 4 months. I see it Friday and say "f*&k it, i'll waste my time and watch it". It turns out to be about this shooting resort just outside of Vegas on the way to Pahrump. It kinda like Valhalla or Thunder Ranch. here the link to there website www.frontsight.com/ Have any of you heard of this place, cause the DVD made it look like a shooters' paradise. Is this place all it says it is or is it just hype? |

I took the free Uzi cpourse they used to offer about 6 years ago. I loved it so last year I bought a lifetime membership. I can take all of these classes as many times as I want for the rest of my life...or until they go bankrupt. Two Day Defensive Handgun; Two Day Tactical Shotgun; Two Day Practical Rifle; Two Day Uzi Submachine Gun; Two Day Select Fire M16; Four Day Defensive Handgun; Four Day Tactical Shotgun; Four Day Practical Rifle; Four Day Uzi Submachine Gun; Four Day Select Fire M16. The instruction is excellent, and the instructers are a good bunch of guys(and a couple of Ladies) with lots of experience. |

Property means homes and building lots for homes. Front Sight had the unique marketing strategy of offering home sites (with and without houses) on the property. When you purchased a home site, it came with all sorts of membership incentives, lifetime memberships, etc. There has been some serious legal litigation over the last 18-months concerning the purchase of the home sites and the related membership perks. The whole concept has gone south and there has been big dollar cash settlements of all the civil lawsuits filed against front sight. That is why earlier in the thread there were some comments about not buying property in Front Sight and just attend the training classes. I have attended two classes at Front Sight in the years past; and handgun and a carbine (AR15) class. The instructors were excellent and I learned a lot. I have not been to Front Sight since 2001, so I could not tell you how things are now. |
| Front sight just had a class action suit over its land dealings. The instruction is very good but it is not as advanced as some of the other smaller schools. If you can get a life time membership and use it 2 times a year or more it would be worth the cost of the membership. But if you don't plan on going on a regular basis I would recommend saving your money and just attending one of the smaller schools when you can afford it. I have learned a lot from Front Sight but the time share marketing is bad and you have NO SERVICES close to the school so pack a lunch and enjoy the port-a-poties. I will add this I seem to run into some fairly high speed guys there and I doubt they would waste their time if they weren't get something out of it. |
